The laser works in 2 ways;
SIDE EFFECTS TO THE TREATMENT
The skin is often slightly pink immediately after treatment, but this subsides after a few hours, and make up and sunscreen may be applied immediately following treatment.
In rare cases, some patients may experience itching or swelling for a few days,scab formation, bruises, infection and temporary hypo or hyper-pigmentation.
The skin will appear healthier, radiant and clearer after few treatments, often noticeable after first treatment. Results are improved if sun exposure, smoking and stress are kept to a minimum.
The results may last for months to a year or two; however, the longevity of any effects is determined by the skin condition, skin type and lifestyle.
HOW IS THE CARBON LASER TREATMENT DONE?
A layer of carbon lotion is first applied to the skin and allowed to dry. This is followed by passing a few layers of laser over the skin. The carbon particles on the skin absorb the laser beam, resulting in microscopic bursts of energy. This causes gentle heat, exfoliation, pore reduction and stimulates collagen growth.
The carbon laser peel is a zero downtime procedure and takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.
After treatment your skin will be cleansed and a moisturising treatment applied. It is advisable to apply plenty of moisturizer and sun block to soothe the skin and stay away from excessive sun exposure during the recovery period.
Make up can be applied after treatment; aesthetic products (for acne, hyperpigmentations, wrinkles etc.) can be applied the following day. There is no restriction of daily activities after the treatment.
